HoloFan

This LED based, swept volume display, produces bright apparently Holographic imagery that is suitable for exhibition and retail environments. A very effective eye-catching way to introduce glasses free augmented reality into a public space.

The units blades spin and as they do the RGB LED elements are cleverly addressed with timely information turning the pixels on or off and addressing them with data that changes pixel colour. This complex arrangement is managed by onboard computation that delivers complete synchronisation with the spinning blades.

The resulting trailing arc of colour is organised and presented to the audience in a way that takes advantage of the "minds eye's" “persistence of vision” effect. The transparent areas of the image plane occur in the sections where the LED diodes are left off and the view through to the rear, is therefore analogous to looking through a spinning propeller. The advantage of having transparent areas of a properly configured image is that the view behind the image plane gives a sense of separation of the image from other surfaces and therefore appears to float in mid-air in a manner that might be considered "Holographic".

Obviously the fact that the blades spin means that positioning of these units must be considered carefully. To help we have a selection of stands and covers that are compliant with effective risk assessments.

These are cost effective units that can be networked and remotely controlled as well as syncronised with audio devices. it is even possible to overlap imagery from different units to make a large image plane.
